AbilityWorks of WNY is important to our Board of Directors as we are driven by our commitment to positively support our community and address the needs of those we serve.

Many within the Board have personal connections to the population affected, with experiences that highlight both the challenges and the rewards of raising developmentally disabled and neurodiverse children. While neurodiversity, and many other physical and developmental disabilities can be a source of joy; it often presents significant barriers, including social, sensory, and communication challenges, as well as mental health concerns and workplace stigma.

We recognize that parents are often the primary advocates for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and we believe it truly takes a village to provide the necessary support and resources for these families and individuals.
